SPRUNG

Happy Spring! I love this time of the year because everything is blossoming, the weather is getting warmer, and its the last uni quarter standing between me and summer. As much as I enjoyed the chill factor of last quarter I am very happy to be in spring and to have had a chance to recharge my batteries over spring break a few weeks ago.

In honor of the break I took some time to visit a friend and road trip up to San Francisco to spend a few days of pigging out, shopping, and good ol' bonding time. Here are some highlights:

can never resist a sweeping mural (remember this wall)
Some of the best soul food in the heart of the Tenderloin District at Brenda's. Not to mention hands-down the most delicious crawfish beignet I've ever had.
beautiful weather & a beautiful friend at the Union Square hearts

seeking food coma rest and refuge at SFMOMA
"oh you blend in with the wall!"
Ending off the trip with pear ginger agave sorbet & mexican chocolate ice cream in a black sesame waffle cone from Tara's and gorgeous creation on the drive home

Despite grim weather reports we were blessed with clear skies and ample sunshine, which almost tricked us into forgoing coats...until we remembered: this is NorCal. Thankfully I have been practicing the art of "layering" which helped to keep the chill at bay only to have gusting winds blow right through me. Thank goodness I gained a solid 10 pounds in those few short days...not. More pictures of my adventures in SF on my Instagram.

The trip was a success and one that I would gladly do again but the perfect end to my spring break was Good Friday and Easter celebrations. Renewing my spirit always satisfies more than anything no matter how much I eat. With that in mind I am sprung for this season and pumped for what lies ahead.

Have a blessed week!

on a lighter note

Why yes I am still alive. After much consideration, Uni finals week was kind enough to let me survive with only slightly impact on my sanity and stress limits. Anyways now that I have a terrible amount of free time on my hands I decided to dream of warmer days in LA when if the sun came out it meant warmth. If you can't tell by other posts my native SoCal self can only dream of warmer days during these winter months.

Much love and luck to my friends taking their finals this week. YOU GOT THIS.

almost there..so long ago

KYOTO. We were almost back to Kanazawa from Fukuoka, and a transfer of overnight bus to day bus dropped us in Kyoto for a few hours. The trip feels so long ago what with the interruption of fall uni quarter beginning again, but I can still taste the amazing matcha ice cream and feel the humid heat in my memories.

Summer is officially gone and fall is here. My SoCal bones are shaking from the chilly weather change and I can only remember humid, hotter days in asia...sighh...until we meet again next summer.

Good vibrations to those in midterms right now! Have a blessed week pondfronds :)

take a walk with me

"Come on, take a walk with me..."

Tell me you don't love Passion Pit. I might have to tell you we aren't virtual friends anymore...that would be too sad. Love their music and I will love you too.

Recently the ridiculous movement of LA weather from one extreme to the next within a week has left my voice hoarse and my allergies in overload. Therefore I am taking this time to not study for uni midterms to reminisce warmer days.

Delicious Mafia deli sandwiches from Pulciano's in San Gabriel to celebrate Pop's birthday...

watching gazelles basking in the heat of the day at SD Zoo Safari Park

Oh to dream of warmer days

show some clavicle

Some people think that legs are attractive. Others think hands are attractive. I personally think the clavicle is attractive. What the hey is a clavicle?  The clavicle, otherwise known as the collarbone, is that bone that juts out a little near your shoulders and neck. Of all of my features I think my clavicle is what I am most proud of. It has the least injuries or blemishes near my arms.

This one shoulder ark & co. dress shows my clavicle. I like it a lot. It cost me $3 at one of my favorite thift stores. People kept telling me I look like a Greek goddess..debatable. My love for the brilliant beaded shoulder detail on this dress... is non-debatable. Mother's Day yesterday was the perfect excuse to throw it on :)

The weather forecast of this week is looking lovely. Have an excellent week!

w e e k e n d e r.

Sunday walks after church down to Olvera street produce good food and excellent inspiration.
1. tostada 2. signage for Mr. Churro against a wonderful gate 3. mexican sandal wants
4. my love for the 80's sweater design against my love for brick 5. my friend & I enjoy stopping to observe the succulents displayed

The past 4 days have been earth shaking. An unforeseen amount of changes has jumbled my emotions and I have been left confused. However God provides such loving people in my life that have supported me through this weekend whether it was phone calls in a parking lot or getting coffee and praying for me. God is good all the time.

j e f f r e y c a m p b e l l

Spontaneous. Just making my way through the LF boutique warehouse sale, focusing on their knits & pumps, and then I see them. Sitting there in my size waiting for me to pick them up. After much debate after realizing they fit like a glove, they finally came home with me :) The most expensive pair of shoes I have ever bought..and they were still only $40!

Now excuse me as I go do some major thrifting...

the w e e k e n d e r.

If you have been reading my blog for a while (..or just read my header) being in college has turned out to be a bit busier than I imagined. Having a part-time job on top of classes doesn't help either and my weekly schedule looks a lot like boot camp with barely a spare minute, so my weekends are the only things that keep me sane and semi-relaxed going into another week of school. I thought I would share what my weekends can consist of for proper de-stressing:

Every other Sunday my mom&I browse the Atwater Farmer's Market in Glendale.
Fresh veggies+tacos/pupusas+ flowers= happy camper

Day trips! This past weekend it was San Marcos, San Diego to visit my cousin.
ginormous donuts+park/hikes+pollo super fries(not pictured)+delicious Phil's BBQ= a super yums trip

What do you do on your weekends to unwind?

sheer bat wing love.

Hey y'all! Say hello to the first outfit post in almost 3 months?! (or more) I have had some outfits recently that i have really enjoyed but time has constricted or I am too lazy to break the camera out but something about this new shirt that I got had to be shared with you all.

Here you can see the full extent of this glorious bat wing

That's all friends! The most expensive thing I am wearing is the Sofft shoes that I bought for $30, other than that the shirt was about $10, the skirt was $5, and the infinite scarf was my moms (thanks mama!).

Well enjoy your weekend friends! I am off to a weekend of fellowship, fun, the outdoors, and some good o'l fashion Jesus time ^.^
